Jennifer Brian Wedding Uc Davis Arboretum

Venue: UC Davis Arboretum, Davis, California

Brian and I met through our mutual friend Michelle, who went to high school with Brian. She actually introduced us at a bar, the Streets of London Pub in Sacramento.

Brian and I both went to UC Davis, so having our wedding there in the beautiful arboretum was a very enticing idea. We chose to have our ceremony in the firepit area, because the natural geography of the place was great: it had a nice circular shape to it, and so the bridal party could stand in a circle instead of long straight lines.
You won't believe this, but during the ceremony, a family of ducks — a mom duck and three baby ducklings — walked right through the back of the bridal party! It was incredibly cute, and, I think, a good omen.
Our Bella photographer, Lori, was everywhere trying to catch all the fun, special moments. My girlfriends surprised everyone with a little dance routine in pink feather boas, to the music of Natalie Cole's "This Will Be" (I had known they were up to something!).
Not to be outdone, the boys decided to perform too, and our friend Dave brought out his fire sticks and did an improvised fire-dance to "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash.
Dancing was a big theme. Before the father-daughter dance, my dad arranged for my four uncles to come out and each take a turn with me on the dance floor.
Lori, our photographer was great. She really took advantage of the beautiful late afternoon lighting, carefully picking her spots. I remember standing on a little pier, with a pond behind us, the golden sunlight is directly behind us, shining through. We also took photos with Brian's Mustang, which had belonged to his grandfather. My parents have a picture from their wedding with a Mustang too, and Lori helped us recreate the same photo for them. I was really pleased with the way everything turned out!
