Known as 'The Capital of the Silicon Valley,' San Jose is the Bay Area's epicenter of technological innovation and contains many great locations for your engagement photography session.
Santana Row is an elegant, upscale shopping district and a popular place for nightlife in California's third-largest city. Begin your stroll through Santana Row at the intersection of Olin and Winchester Avenue ' the area known as Park Valencia. This sector of the shopping center is filled with chic caf's and contains a large green lawn for you and your fianc'e to relax on while your engagement photographer takes snapshots. The scattered palm trees will also add a tropical touch to the ambience of your engagement photo shoot. Next, move on to The Vintage Wine Bar - a cozy little wine cellar that has a reputation for being one of the best and most eclectic in San Jose. Here, you and your fianc'e can take photos using the bar's neo-Mediterranean architecture as a backdrop. You can also pose in front of the glimmering fountain right next to the wine bar. Across the street from the Wine Bar you'll find the DeForest Building, another gorgeous example of Villa-style architecture that contains a charming little courtyard with its own stylish hanging chandeliers and sparkling fountain. Finally, cross the street and you'll find yourself at Santana Row's one-of-a-kind chess courtyard ' a favorite spot for tourists, and locals alike. Challenge your fianc'e to a match on the giant chessboard as your engagement photographer documents the competition. These are just a few of the unique places for you to explore at luxurious Santana Row!
In addition to being a center of finance and technological innovation, San Jose is also home to some of the Bay Area's most beautiful botanic gardens. Start off your flower-filled engagement photo shoot at the San Jose Municipal Rose Garden, a 5 ' acre public rose garden that is open daily free of charge. Walk through the garden and you'll be stunned by the wide selection of vibrant rose bushes, all of which vary in color and size. At some point, pose with your fianc'e for an intimate portrait on one of the garden's expansive verdant lawns, surrounded by floral treasures. You can also pause for a photo op on the garden's natural grass stage, surrounded by towering redwood trees, with a view of endless roses. The garden's impressive fountains will also make a great backdrop for your engagement photos as you and your fianc'e relax on any one of the countless immaculate benches. Just over a mile away from the San Jose Municipal Rose Garden you'll find the Guadalupe River Park and Gardens. Located in the heart of San Jose, this park runs along the banks of the Guadalupe River. Have your engagement photographer take some candid photos as your and your fianc'e take a leisurely stroll along the pathways that intersect the park, with the flowing azure river serving as your guide. For a private photo, pose beside any of the trees that secure both sides of the pathway, or take a seat on one of the many wooden benches. Feel free to frolick with your fianc'e in the lush green grass, as well, for some playful engagement photos. You'll have a blast exploring some of San Jose's most scenic natural settings during your engagement photo shoot!
California's oldest higher learning institution, Santa Clara University is a great place to have your engagement photography session. The campus is filled with beautiful Mission-style architecture that will provide an elegant backdrop for your engagement photos. Start off with a fun photo seated atop the entrance sign, surrounded by tropical palm trees. Then move on to the oldest of California's 21 missions, Mission Santa Clara de Asis, located in the heart of the campus. Here you and your fianc'e can pose seated on the front steps or beneath the mission's arched entrance. Afterward, walk over to Mission Gardens, where you'll be surrounded by a myriad of plant life, including olive trees, wisteria arbor trees, and countless different kinds of rose bushes. The Mission Garden's immaculate adobe wall, one of the campus' oldest remaining structures, is also a great spot for a photo op. Once you've finished at the Mission Garden, take a short walk over to the Benson Memorial Center and take some photos in front of the gorgeous glimmering fountain. Other ideal photography locations on campus include Sobrato Hall, Kenna Hall, and the courtyard of the New Library.
