San Francisco is known around the world for picturesque and breathtaking scenery that will make your engagement photography session truly unique ' and unforgettable!
Begin your engagement photography session at Buena Vista Park, where you will immediately feel like you have taken a trip to the mountains many hours away. Be prepared for some steep trails that will reward you with unparalleled views and settings that feel as if you're in an enchanted forest. Buena Vista'in Spanish it means Good View' is the oldest park in the City, and its graceful and magnificent trees and meandering trails are spectacular. The park offers plenty of settings to capture intimacy, fun and spontaneity as you and your fianc'e pose in the shady glens and bask in the sun on the open spaces that slope down the hill with the City and the entire Bay Area spread out below. Parking can be tough close to Haight Street, but there are numerous entrance points all around the periphery ' especially near the south end by Park Hill Street. From Buena Vista head to Twin Peaks, where you'll feel like you're on top of the world even though you're less than a thousand feet above sea level! This location offers breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views that allow you to take in the entire City of San Francisco and the Bay Area. The towering transmission towers you see from a distance practically disappear when you're up on the hill and visitors are always surprised to find that the top of Twin Peaks is a Natural Area. Providing a critical habitat for a wide variety of wildlife, this preserve allows native vegetation to flourish, and provides many settings to frame stunning images that capture the feeling of being deeply in love in one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Wrap up your engagement photography session at another stunning location just a short drive from Twin Peaks. Mt. Davidson Park is a magnificent jewel in the amazing collection of parks that San Francisco has to offer. Cherished by locals as a breathtaking location, it offers romantic views of the Golden Gate Bridge, downtown San Francisco and many opportunities to capture the special feeling you share with your loved one. A remarkable feature of this park is the towering cross that reaches up to the canopies of the lovely trees that surround it.
Chinatown is a fantastic place to find remarkable urban engagement photography settings, with a variety of exotic locations that lend themselves to memorable images. Start at the Gateway to Chinatown on Grant Street, then simply stroll through this fascinating neighborhood and capture unique urban shots while browsing the colorful and interesting wares for sale. Pose before architecture that will transport you halfway around the world, like the Bank of Canton. While you're here make sure to visit Old St. Mary's, the first building erected as a cathedral in California. For a time it was the city's most prominent building, and what is truly fascinating is that much of its stone work was quarried and cut in China and brought to San Francisco in sailing ships. Before you leave, you might also find interesting photo opportunities across the street at St. Mary's Square. From here head down Broadway to the Embarcadero. You'll find great possibilities for unexpected images in Justin Herman Plaza by the Vaillancourt Fountain and across the street at the Embarcadero Center. At the southernmost end of the Embarcadero you'll find Rincon Park and the ultimate romantic sculpture ' Cupid's Span ' where you and your fianc'e can indulge in imaginative and playful moments. Take a fun and romantic ride in a Historic Streetcar down to the Fog City Diner ' a San Francisco institution. Then just walk along the waterfront and take in the vibrant urban scene as your photographer captures unforgettable moments of the two of you in love. Your next destination is Coit Tower on the top of Telegraph Hill, where you'll be perched high above the City and rewarded with sweeping panoramic images of San Francisco and the Entire Bay Area. Explore unique photographic possibilities inside the tower as the two of you pose before the murals made by local artists over 70 years ago. Wrap up your session with a walk down the Filbert Street steps that offer many romantic settings ' you may even be rewarded with a sighting of the famous and colorful wild parrots of Telegraph Hill.
Yerba Buena Gardens offers a spectacular one-stop location for a memorable engagement photography session in the heart of the City. Known for its five and a half acres of lush green meadows, gorgeous trees, flowering gardens, falling water, spectacular public art and romantic cafes, there are literally thousands of opportunities to capture a wide range of engagement photos here. Start your session at the Esplanade and head towards the East Meadow ' where a woodland grove, grass-covered hillside and butterfly garden invite you to relax and savor the moment with your fianc'e as your photographer captures unforgettable images. Stroll around the Upper Terrace where evergreen trees and flowering shrubs soften the urban setting, creating unique backdrops for intimate shots. In the East Garden you will find a lovely triangular garden with many colorful opportunities for unique photos, including a cascading waterfall. Should you plan your session late in the day and into the evening, you will also be able to capture truly stunning images with the magnificent Martin Luther King Memorial lit up in the background ' its majestic 50ft tall waterfall and shimmering glass panels set in granite create a unique setting that inspires reflection and closeness.
