Colorado’s capital is home to one of the nation’s most beautiful botanical gardens, which contains countless exhibits that display a variety of plant life from around the world. Denver Botanic Gardens will provide a truly romantic location for your engagement photography session. Start off your engagement photo shoot at the intimate Herb Garden and have your engagement photographer snap some photos of you and your fiancée surrounded by over 150 lush green herbs, as well as a collection of finely crafted sculpture works. You can then head over to the Japanese Garden, whose tranquil pond and carefully arranged rocks and bonsai trees will provide a serene ambience for your photography session. Also check out the Scripture Garden, which contains a secluded little chapel area that will work great for your engagement photos. Finally, head over to the Boettcher Memorial Conservatory, which houses thousands of different species of tropical plants and trees from around the world. These are just a few of the exhibits that you can explore at Denver’s premier botanical garden! Park hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, and admission is $11.50 for adults. Once you’ve finished at the botanical gardens, take a short drive over to Denver City Park, located just mile away. You and your fiancée can take a leisurely stroll through the park’s winding pathways as your engagement photographer takes some candid photos. Later, pose for an intimate portrait beneath one of the park’s large shade trees or seated on one of the scattered benches. Finally, walk over to the park’s Duck Lake and have your engagement photographer take some photos using the sparkling water and the Denver city skyline as a backdrop.
For the couple that wants to explore the exciting sites of the city, Denver’s Larimer Square is the perfect location for an engagement photography session. Denver’s very first city block, Larimer Square has expanded to become the city’s premier business and shopping district while maintaining a unique historic feel. Have your engagement photographer take some photos of you and you fiancée in front of the classy Tamayo restaurant, using as backdrop the building’s red brick exterior. Continue on down the street and explore some of the other restaurants and bars, including Osteria Marco restaurant and the downstairs area of Lime restaurant. Latimer Square’s pervasive old-style brick architecture makes just about every secluded nook and cranny in the district into your own personal photo studio! Have your engagement photographer utilize the countless staircases of some of the city’s older buildings, as well as the cozy benches and lamp posts strewn throughout the district. After you’ve finished your photo shoot at Larimer Square, head over to Commons Park – one of Denver’s most popular urban parks. Relax on the park’s lush green lawn as your engagement photographer captures some lighthearted moments between you and your fiancée. Toward the center of the park you’ll find a carefully landscaped circular space, a combination of modern sculpture and outdoor ambience that will work well for your engagement photos. Finally, have your engagement photographer take some photos on the immaculate Millennium Bridge, which connects Commons Park to Denver’s 16th Street Mall, using the water beneath and the surrounding cityscape to create a perfect setting.
Often overshadowed by some of Denver’s larger higher learning institutions, the small, private Regis University contains a picturesque campus that will make it a perfect place for your engagement photography session. Begin your photo shoot on campus at the magnificent crimson Main Hall, where you and your fiancée can pose on the stairs beneath the arched front entrance, seated on one of the benches in front of the building, or relaxing on the verdant lawn in the foreground. You can then head over to Gothic-looking Carroll Hall, where you and your fiancée can pose on the large stones that are neatly arranged in front of the building, as well as beneath any of the large green oaks and pines in the front garden. Your engagement photographer can also snap some photos as you and your fiancé take a promenade around Carroll Hall, following its neatly paved brick walkway. Afterward, head over to DeSmet Hall and take some photos in the finely landscaped courtyard. If you have time, you can also visit Rocky Mountain Lake Park, which is located just a few blocks away campus. This small, yet scenic, Denver Park contains a seemingly undisturbed natural setting that will make it the perfect place to conclude your engagement photography session in Colorado’s capital city.
