Got tickets to an Orioles Game? Combine your day of baseball fun with your Baltimore engagement photography session for some extraordinary, unique photos. Start off the itinerary with some shots outside of the famous Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Have your photographer take some pictures of you and your fiancé tailgating in all of your black and orange Orioles gear. Bring along a baseball bat and ball for your own private game outside of the stadium while your photographer captures candid pictures of your friendly game.
Once inside, order up your favorite baseball fare. Bite into a hotdog or share some nachos while watching the game. Your engagement photographer can stay in the background, snapping shot after shot of your exciting baseball date. The stadium will sprawl out behind you in every shot, with the vibrant green diamond adding a punch of color. Make the shoot fun and feel free to be yourselves. Prepare in advance by ordering a Scoreboard Surprise! The fee is only $25, and the stadium scoreboard will display the bridal couple’s names and their wedding date between the sixth and eight innings. Your photographer can get an image of the couple kissing under the lit up scoreboard for the ultimate keepsake. To end your session, be sure to get some shots of you and your sweetheart with your cheesy foam fingers, cheering on your favorite team. This baseball itinerary will add a whole new dimension of Americana to your Baltimore engagement photography album.
The beauty of art often translates easily to film, and you will undoubtedly find that the pieces at the Baltimore Museum of Art are no different. For those couples with artistic souls, try staging your Baltimore engagement photography session at the museum. While you are not permitted to use flash, lights, or a tripod, you could easily do without those implements and embrace a photojournalistic style of candid and unexpected shots. The museum’s collected works include pieces by Matisse, Picasso, and Van Gogh, as well as more contemporary artists like Warhol and Eliasson. Peruse the galleries while your photographer frames it all through his or her lens. In addition to timeless paintings and art works, the museum is also home to a magnificently green Sculpture Garden. Meander through the flora and take in the garden’s well-manicured landscaping. Sculptures on display span the generations, including works from 19th century artists like Rodin and Calder, alongside 20th century artists like Henry Moore and Jose Ruiz de Rivera. While artists will find the sculpture garden to be a haven within the urban walls of Baltimore, engagement photographers will see the space as the perfect backdrop for some intimate couple portraits. Walk hand-in-hand through the garden, giving each other a peck here and there, and your photographer will have plenty of opportunity to frame the shots that you will cherish forever.
You can’t have a Baltimore engagement photography session without water! Local vendors make it easy for you to get out on the water and get some amazing pictures. Your clothing may get wet, so you will want to be prepared by wearing water-friendly fabrics. Also, many vendors require advanced reservations, so be sure to call them up before your photo session. At the Downtown Sailing Center, you and your future-spouse can charter a sailboat to take out into the water. Trim the sails and set out for an adventure you won’t soon forget. The key to great engagement photographs is to get comfortable and enjoy yourself. The camera will pick up on your positive energy as your engagement photographer works to capture those romantic images of windswept hair, sun-kissed skin, and white sails against a backdrop of deep blues. If sailing is not really your style, walk to the Inner Harbor’s Paddle Boat Dock and rent a boat. Paddle boats don’t require much initial know-how and they can be just as fun as sailing. This dock rents out regular boats as well as uniquely shaped dragon paddle boats, so you have the option of which you prefer. Your photographer can stand on the dock and zoom in on your boat as the two of you paddle off toward the horizon, or they can catch shots with Baltimore’s tall buildings in the background. You and your fiancé are free to have fun, splash, and play while your photographer gets it all on film. Your date out on the friendly waters will provide great memories and reinforce all of those reasons that you want to get married.
