Bella Pictures

WHO WE ARE

Bella is a great place for creative photographers. Talented visual storytellers of many types appreciate working with Bella. Here's what some of them have to say:

Rich Chapman: Newspaper Staff Photographer
and Bella Photographer

Rich has shot for various newspapers for over twenty-five years and believes that his best work is still in front of him. Energy and professionalism are two traits that best describe Rich at work. He believes in taking time with every subject he photographs, to capture the story of their moments and to grab the viewer's attention.

"I enjoy shooting pictures for Bella Pictures because of the freedom they allow for my creativity and their encouragement to let the creative juices flow! I approach my weddings using the same techniques I use for my daily newspaper job - telling a story through pictures. I simply apply my skills making sure my stories have a beginning, middle and end, while paying close attention to details and important moments throughout the day."

Monty Ksycki: Freelance Photographer
and Bella Certified Photographer

Monty's interest in photography began as a means for documenting his own life. Originally a graphic designer, Monty knew he could use photography as an additional creative outlet and create images that speak a soulful message rather than just taking snap shots.

"It's refreshing to be given the opportunity to break some rules by experimenting, using the technology that is available to create artistic, edgy storytelling images that convey emotion and passion and not be governed by how many reorders I bring in to the studio. At Bella I'm exposed to other types of photographers that I didn't have contact with previously. Bella is composed of photographers that shoot for newspapers, magazines, ad agencies and more."

Daniel Terpstra: Studio Owner
and Bella Certified Photographer

Daniel loves to photograph weddings simply because it's a day on which people are at their best. They look their best, they feel great, and their emotion can't help but be captured by the lens. Daniel takes great pride in his ability to make his subjects feel at ease, which in turn leads to extraordinary posed and candid images. He possesses the rare ability to be the "fly on the wall" capturing the story of the day, while exuding the charm to make a portrait session fun and easy.

"An unexpected benefit has been working with a wide range of photographers with vastly different backgrounds and experience levels including world renowned photo journalists. I've enjoyed learning from other photographers and sharing my knowledge. I'm able to shoot my own events, fill-in open weekends with Bella's, and shoot my way for their events while building my portfolio."

Marilyn DiMarco: Freelance photographer
and Bella Certified Photographer

Marilyn has been shooting weddings for years, and she considers it an honor to be asked to document such a special day in a family's life. Marilyn is a photojournalist who strives to capture and tell the story of the day through her images. She sees weddings as a photojournalist's dream because they are so full of wonderful, unexpected moments. Marilyn's work has been featured in galleries throughout Maryland and Washington DC. Her images have been published in various books, newspapers and magazines.

"The most satisfying part about photographing weddings for Bella is having the luxury of just making the images. The marketing, bride and groom meetings, paperwork, prints and albums are all taken care of by other people. Bella photographers are encouraged to shoot weddings their way, with creative storytelling images and photos of the special moments of the day."
